Switzerland 2038
Switzerland is the first country to be invited by the IOC to enter into ‘privileged dialogue’, in the autumn of 2023. What does that mean?
The IOC has committed to engaging in exclusive dialogue with Switzerland and reserving it the right to host the 2038 Winter Games until the end of 2027. Switzerland has until the end of 2027 to further develop and revise its application.

Project
1 — Together
An inspiring event, by all and for all.
The 2038 Olympic™ and Paralympic™ Winter Games in Switzerland are more than just a sporting event – they are a unique, shared, unifying, inspiring project for and by the Swiss public.
2 — Unique
Supported nationally, organised regionally.
Previously, the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have been hosted by cities or regions. The IOC is now also permitting applications taking a national approach.
3 — Innovative
Economic, social and environmental Winter Games as a driver for societal challenges.
We are creating Winter Games that are economically, socially and environmentally sustainable because we are thinking about and approaching it in a new way, because the conditions here are ideal, and because we Swiss can do it.
Venue Masterplan
The venue master plan illustrates Switzerland’s decentralised concept and the distribution of venues and central functions across the entire country.
